Long Island Restaurant Week & LI Tweetup for Island Harvest
Next week is the much anticipated Long Island Restaurant Week by Foodies from all over the area for 3 course Prixe Fix dinners at $24.95 and now five of the participants are locations for a Food Drive on behalf of Island Harvest via the local Twitter users, known as LITweetUp Helps. This special kind of social media event brings us all together -in person- for a great cause and runs from November 6th through November 13th but the actual TweetUps are designated on the website links.
Please check out these links, share them to raise awareness and stop by to mingle with everyone while enjoying a great prix fixe meal and bring some non-perishable food donations, see the Island Harvest website for suggestions what kind of items they are looking for such as pet food and special diet products.

Getting together with local social media contacts is really fun too because you get to meet the people that you only know via these internet platforms and hear their voices and see the facial expressions and mannerisms that a bio photo can't show, unless they do video too. It puts a warm handshake or a hug with the social profile that you know and helps food pantries stock up for the holidays.
