I've Started My 2010 Holiday Shopping But Still Have To Make A Gift List

Have you ever gone out shopping and end up buying holiday gifts for someone that you didn't intend to get? I started my Christmas shopping the other day both online and in the store and did exactly that, which is not in my budget. Every year I write out a list on legal paper or in a notebook to keep track of gifting ideas and progress. I have yet to start one for this season.

Making a Holiday Gift List helps me spend my alloted funds for presents more wisely. It also helps me remember gift ideas for people that I can forget to check out since I like to see it if at all possible before purchase, especially because I prefer to get paid for shopping online and getting cash back from MA with the latest coupons to increase my savings even more.

For instance, today at Sears in Hicksville I went there to check out the coats that I was considering buying for my kids via the MA webportal link but they were already sold out of them yet, I saw others in the store that didn't catch my eye on the web. Now I can plan a strategy to see if they are online, get cash back that I wouldn't otherwise get and in the size I need with their rewards program points too. My girls' always are the size that everyone else buys out too, happens all the time. Is it just us or what?

So with the pre-sales and Black Friday deals coming out soon I can shop smarter and increase my savings by knowing what items I want to gift or just get for the holidays. Many retailers have special offers already and every Friday is a special version of the main Black Friday sale. It may be the first week of November but it makes sense to be web savvy and coupon friendly. I plan to head over to the Sears.com site and bookmark a few items like the really cool light I saw for the guys for around $34. They were almost gone at the store already but getting 2% cash back and the "ShopYourWay" Rewards from Sears & Kmart gives me more reason to make it over to the site.

I also noticed several news stories about the upcoming 2010 Holiday Sales with Walmart, Target, Kohls and Sears leading the way. I'm sure Cyber Monday is also going to be another record breaking day for retailers too. Many shoppers are probably as anxious as me to find out the scoop ahead of everyone else. Let's hope more teasers make the news!

PS....if you know anyone shopping for me tell them to get me The Twilight Saga: Eclipse DVD 2 disc blu-ray edition but then I may not wait since it may sell out of the edition I want, Haha

(Making it feel festive in the house while I shop over the internet by listening to holiday music and the new cd: Mariah Carey Merry Christmas II You)
