What they'll probably discuss is how the owner of the salon or spa registers as a MA distributor thru a sponsor and utilizes the beauty & personal care products as tools for extra income. Not only will they have Motives custom compacts, minerals and custom liquid foundations but there's also Royal Spa, a top quality haircare line and entire line of targeted skincare brands such as Cellular Labs, Pentaxyl & Skintelligence to name a few. When the owner/now distributor enlists the stylists and other pros in the salon then there's an incentive to move product because they can earn points toward commissions.....which also develops into a residual income. 

Residuals, pensions and a retirement income are lifetime essentials but usually not found in the beauty industry at all. Stylists and owners are slaves to their industry and spend their lives standing, cutting, coloring, servicing and acquiring new clients. The MA salon owners learn how to work together with their staff because everyone wins if done correctly as the system eliminates many issues like when a stylist leaves because there's still a connection if they maintain their own distributorship. Hey, even the customer wins since they are all high end products that do what their supposed to......and not available thru stores anywhere, like other brands that undercut the salon or cosmetic boutique & distributor. And if a trained consultant on staff offers custom blend liquid or mineral foundation then that customer must go back to their consultant/salon's boutique for reorders.
