Social Networks For Moms, Beauty, Entrepreneurs & More!

There are so many social media networks out there nowadays that it makes you wonder if they are worth your time and effort. Thankfully almost all social media is free to users but it is very time consuming, especially if you don't have your online profile or data info ready to post. When MA launched the maChatterbox network I was on it all day & night, adding lots of neighbors and interacting with other distributors. Its slowed down a bit and some features have been added or fine tuned but I blog there too and get inquiries about Motives info. Admin recently replied to my inquiry for a widget that you'll see on the sidebar here as soon as its available.

I have made dozens of profiles on various social networks and it has gotten to the point of being boring. So I've learned to be more discriminating with where I sign on because sometimes all you get is spam from new contacts that are usually MLMer's looking for new recruits and now I have at least 3 Avon ladies "updating" me, some are bold enough to add me to their database which annoys me. I did not ask to be solicited.......I plan to keep one just to see the Avon/Mark email marketing. I don't know any MaryKay reps, at least none that have put me on their prospect list. lol

People that I meet usually determine quite quickly that I'm not going anywhere when they approach me with their opportunity. I'm not rude but I am clear that MA & Motives is my focus, I will listen or send them referrals when I can but most of the time its not something I do for MLM contacts but definitely for service professionals & traditional business owners.

Of course the major networks like MySpace, Facebook, Flickr, StumbleUpon, Twitter and Digg are worth getting your info onto because they all help drive traffic to your website links. Just this past week I was really excited to be "friended" on Facebook by Loren Ridinger herself, so then I made a friend request to JR of course which he just approved yesterday. Now that's cool to hook up with your corporate head honchos on a personal  basis like this. It makes them human and you feel connected to your company's management team.

Ning is a string of social networks that is gaining a range of topics that I like. Right here on my sidebar is a link to the BeautyNetwork which has been there for about a year and I've recently added the MomsHelpingMoms group. These are much smaller selective types of networks and usually have an approval process so as to avoid the spammers and overzealous MLMers. I just posted on their WAHM discussion board today about "what I do" just click this link to view that. I can only hope that I presented myself well until I hear feedback, if any.

That's all for now, gotta get myself some lunch. Perhaps a turkey wrap? Hmmm.
