Things Have Been So Quiet Lately, Could It Be Because Of The Money Crisis?
Its been quiet business-wise lately? A few orders came in over the weekend, thanks to some longtime customers. No new inquiries or responses to postings. Not even an update from corporate on the Motives mini-site that I'm just dying to get going with!! Come to think of it, MA hasn't even given us a portal update on MyWorld launching either? They must be working on things feverishly to make the release perfect. Still I'll have to check our voicemail and listen to all of the messages that I don't always open just to be sure.
We had a short yet refreshing weekend getaway to the Catskills. My husband golfed at Hanah in Margaretville with his group of buddies. The trees are just starting to peak with color and I went on a trainride with our girls to see the beautiful valley. The annual Cauliflower festival was a disappointment, no cauliflower!, and no pony rides with an obvious lack of vendors due to the rainy forecast. It wasn't that bad really. We even got to check out the country club's pool & hot tub, now that was therapeutic for stress levels.
Last week I did give copies of the Haute Living Special Edition to my personally sponsored people. I think they are waiting for new people while they should be focusing on their own efforts regardless of what I do. One of them actually asked why no one helps them or how come they didn't know about certain things when I had to remind them that they don't go to ANY meetings, not even the home gatherings that are corings... and free. I can't stand dealing with negativity, its so draining and effects me more than it really should. Its such a challenge for me to stay the course with that in my head.
Okay, now I know that I've been letting time slip by because I'm watching the political stuff a lot on cable & flipping thru all the talking heads chatter, my favorite show is Glenn Beck. I can't help but worry because we own a full service station........with gas. (Think of a patriotic Mom/Pop repair shop with two pumps, if gas wasn't in our lease to keep the corner location we'd stop the gas distribution-see the link on my sidebar) Our future is uncertain in the automotive industry and many of our customers are NYC commuters that will be affected by layoffs and bank failures, if they haven't already. Its getting tougher everyday to own a small business. Even the competition across from us just moved to a smaller location in another town to downsize.
The launch of the Motives site will prompt me to do some things that I have planned. Its not productive waiting or procrastinating, however you want to look at it, for my business or goals which seem miniscule in the face of the financial crisis and political games our country is facing. Many people around here are worried about their future and so stressed out that there are record numbers of people getting panic and anxiety attacks. The prescriptions for that must be flying off the shelf!!
The stock market is dropping like a boulder right now, ugh! :O Even Google is at $386!!
