MA 2008 Convention Update for Motives Cosmetics by Loren Ridinger
The Motives Trainer class was earlier this week at the MA Convention which doesn't end until Sunday's tradeshow at the Greensboro Coliseum. I got the scoop from our Motives department leader that day while meeting colleagues. We all got to see and try our new Motives collection called Gossip!! The entire range of new cosmetics are mineralized!! And gorgeous........I also love the theme with all of the trendy glam names and fashionable colors to match.
The suprise addition to Motives are six Gel Eyeliners in jars. They are fabulous with rich colors that are pearlized with the exception of black. We also have a superb new eyeliner brush to go with the gel liners and I did get to try it too. I must say that it gave a precise line and the gel liner just glided on with it. The application on the back of my hand lasted until that night when I scrubbed it off at bedtime. I can only imagine how much longevity it will have on the eye. There's also a new lengthening mascara too with a rubber bristle brush like Chanel supposedly...I'll have to look that up.
Our new collection of ten Mineral Lipsticks are a sight to see too. The trainers were all picking out their favorites and trying to jot down the names like Fashionista, Divalicious and Stiletto to mention a few. I think that I'd wear all but maybe two of them just because I don't do well with corals or brighter reds. Every woman has her preference for lip color which can be categorized as basically pinks, reds and browns. I am definitely into deeper pinks with a brown tint or deeper reds with a brown or burgundy to them, only for gloss do I use lighter pink, but almost never reds and it depends on the brown. No coppers too warm for me.
Anyhow, the Motives collection has a new designation of being "by Loren Ridinger" attached to the line now, which it really always has been. I love that she's representing, it is her "baby" after all....besides her daughter Amber "Miami's 'It' Girl" and recently contracted model for The Hip Chick, which ended up becoming an MA Partner store. Corporate said we'll be seeing tv ads for that and I'm sure it can only help with our branding efforts.
Oh... you all are going to fall in love with the new Gossip Eye Shadow Palettes, yes--with an "s"....there are TWO this year! Makeup artists are going to want these in their kits for sure. They're titled Celebrity and Glam with a sensational set of colors that will surely make the eyes pop. I can't wait to try a Smokey eye look with the both of them. Guess I'll have to get two sets right away and have one for my makeup kit and the other for my personal train case of cosmetics. I ONLY use our makeup & why shouldn't I?--this is my product to represent and the only other line that interests me is MAC, I may have to try something of theirs one day even if only at the beauty counter.
I almost forgot to mention our new powders! There are two new pressed mineral face powders in Bronze & Dark Cocoa to go with the loose mineral counterparts. And perhaps the most popular addition are Color Quads for a multi-purpose colored powder that can highlight, bronze and just add some healthy glow. And refillable compacts are available for creating custom compacts with magnets to reduce waste and lower costs too.
Yay, Motives Cosmetics has gone Green! The new products are also paraben free, talc free and fragrance free. Only the lipsticks are naturally scented with Vanilla extract plus a host of aromatherapy ingredients including grape seed oil (opc) and Vitamin E. We'll also be seeing Motives amongst the beauty mags as product picks this fall thanks to our national publicity campaign. I hope we are told which ones get published for reference.
(I'll post photos & update with links as they become available.)
