Makeup Artist Pro Recommends Colors Like Motives Tropical Collection!
I was surfing the news and found an article about Bobbi Brown, the professional makeup artist with her own line of cosmetics. The article interviewed her for summer beauty tips and makeup suggestions and at the very bottom of the story she says that sand and sea colors are great for summer which is exactly what tones our Tropical Paradise Spring/Summer Collection by Motives features in the color range!!
The pretty summery eyeshadows are named Pink Bikini, Seafoam, Seabreeze, Sand Dust, Mirage & Rainforest while the Lip Gels are Tropical Punch, Cocoa Butter, Raspberry Kiss and Pink Mimosa with some new Anti-aging Lip Liners in Oasis, Aloha, Tahitian Sunset & Orchid. I'll paste a pic of a model with the eye colors.
Excerpt:
"Colour vision: Transparent, shimmery colours are a great choice because they leave the skin looking soft and breezy. Tans and light blues are reminiscent of sand and the ocean, and they make a great eye-shadow combination for anyone who craves a little bit of colour without being overwhelmed. Put away your matte, full coverage lipsticks and try a tinted lip balm. It's a quick, easy and modern way to add colour to your lips while protecting them."

As for the suggestion for a tinted balm, Motives has the Tinted Lip Plumpers which are incredibly popular no matter what time of year. Our peptide formula tingles gently as it plumps and seals lips with a nice shine. A bronzer tip is also mentioned in the article that I was curious about too, Motives has two matte pressed bronzers and one new shimmer bronzer in the Mineral Powder collection. I love the silky feel of the Mineral Bronzer, its even enriched with 9 herbal extracts too! But I was wondering about the difference between the bronzers and now it makes more sense that a matte should be on the face with shimmer selectively placed for highlighting while the body can use a shimmer anytime to create that sun kissed glow.

UPDATE/afterthought:
When I did the makeover at The Makeup Show I used the Tropical Paradise teal-blue Seabreeze on the lid, the medium tone Brown Mist in the crease and outer corner with Seafoam on the browbone which has the sheerest two-tone of vanilla with pink. It came out really nice with teal on the lower lashline & brown liner in the outer corner with brown mascara since the woman was fair skinned blonde.
Gotta play with these combinations more to create more options. I did the Rainforest on myself and didn't like it so much on myself, I think I need to see more examples of similar applications to creat a trendy summer look for that one. I have hazel green-brown eyes so maybe that's the challenge. Practice, practice, practice!
Custom compact of Tropical Paradise Eyeshadows, with Cherry Blossom in a single compact on the side.
