That Eclipse Sure Can Get Things Happening!
This has been a hectic week & I think the lunar eclipse has something to do with it! Although I'm not having any bad stress but just getting our house, our lives and my training room organized is amazing. Its a miracle to see dozens of storage boxes get tossed and rearrange things. The office is close to being ready for my Motives Level III training for this Sunday and I still want to put a fresh coat of paint on the walls and I also have to get my hubby to install the projector screen & a coat hook rack.
For the class, there are a few errands to do like get printouts for the handout material which I can do here, this time there are only a handful of students. The Custom Blend class is distributor only and for people who want to really go the whole mile to be a Senior Motives Consultant so I expected a smaller turnout. Some of my students reported back to me how they shopped at the Leadership event in Miami for supplies and liked knowing ahead of time to do that & see the actual Motives branded merchandise while saving some money on shipping.
As for our lives, its great to have that stuff cleaned out since the old invoices for our shop have been there for at least 6 years and that room has just been a computer room for our son. Should've taken a before picture. LOL We finally bought a wardrobe closet for him at IKEA yesterday....I love that store for furniture. They had just opened here on LI when we first bought the house so we were able to toss all the hand-me downs with their low cost merchandise. Just need some IBV from them! Anyhow, it took my son all evening to assemble that, he's 21 & totally capable, and still has to store his stuff. We also ended up tossing out bags of clothes to the charity bins. Hooray!
Also had a meeting with my hubby about staying in NY or actually relocating to NC. If it wasn't for our repair shop it'd be much easier to decide once and for all and stop waffling. Staying local is another issue. We'd rather rent but the market is so unstable that we've heard of renters getting booted because owners are defaulting. And out of the blue, his old partner pops into the shop announcing that he's a Real Estate agent to offer more confusion & wants to list our house. Ugh!! Keeping or selling the house & the shop is a big factor, its a lifechange for my family that we're not wanting to face. Its a career change for the hubby, at age 47 what's he going to do in automotive or business? How do you say "comfortably miserable"?
While we were analyzing our options again, we talked about how its nothing new that the Mom & Pop auto repair shop like ours is an antiquated dinosaur, even though we are perhaps the busiest shop in the area and up-to-date with diagnostics, the dealers are keeping the customers so we have less business. Gotta re-strategize......and get MA cookin' too!! Okay, time to get back to my chores & finish that classroom.
