The Highs Of Life & Lows Of Another Loss
I just had an awesome Sunday with Motives and a new friend that's a professional makeup artist. We had a great time with a small group of women that each had their turn with him using our product. My friend Michael is a longtime beauty pro in the NY theater and beauty industry. His application of color and helping each of us with our beauty challenges was amazing! We all felt incredibly beautiful after our consults. I had never sat in the chair before to have someone put makeup on me so it was a new experience & secret wish fulfilled, for me.
The possibilities are unlimited with my new friend. Motives needs a pro like him and corporate needs his input BIGTIME!! He's got prior experience working with cosmetics companies in the development area. He thinks we need to update the main palettes & plans to be my resource for scheduling clinics and such. I agree with most of his ideas too.
I hope to get him to understand how corporate only listens to the field and not to outsiders. He must register his business with us to do that. Its not just the $99.95 to apply but the Motives supplies he'll need for his consults as a pro can add up to a sizable amount IF he gets the whole enchilada or even part of it. I'm so glad that its not the crazy numbers that Motives used to be, and that was not too long ago. Some people would spent a few thousand to "get started" just about five years ago and trainings were $850!! versus the $50 per class & $25 for retakes within the last 365 days with proof.
Thankfully, the new revamp to Motives makes it more doable for everyone. People can simply hand out a catalog and choose to have a few items to show or go all out and be a makeup artist for Motives with the impressive silver box and all the products stocked in there. I pieced my set together over time...and I still don't have EVERY product in the Motives line, but that's okay because its more important to stock what sells, not just have inventory sit there.
We plan to book a few dates with him again and he's excited to be available for us.
As for the lows going on, we're still in a whirlwind about selling the house. It has to happen though & we've admitted it to ourselves. So we're finally having counsel with financial professionals to work out things. In the meantime I've created a website to help us get leads for the home sale. I'm not looking forward to the coming mega-cleanout of 17 years of "stuff".
And then just about an hour ago I learned that one of our top team leaders has passed away over the weekend. Steve Seigh was one of the company's first distributors here or anywhere for that matter. He was an amazing salesman and built the business with pressure for money owed to creditors to fuel his passion to make the business earn weekly income quickly. Steve was among the first Million Dollar Club members. He was always a party-hardy kinda guy and had a stroke a few years ago that forced him to slow down. Steve will be sorely missed. Occassionally he'd be at a coring or event and would offer his advice or words of encouragement. He had a way of basking in the spotlight when he got the microphone. haha
The wake will most likely be Thursday here on the Island. My hubby knew him from when we first started and will come with me. His brother Bill manages our group here and just retired his wife and himself recently....I mean just within the last several weeks. I wonder how they are holding up. Makes things get into perspective for ya when people die, we may have financial and business challenges but we do have our family and friends and good health. Thank God.
