Thoughts On The Coming Hispanic Market Partnership

I just read an article on Hispanic Market trends that got me thinking about Market America's new effort to make the webportal in Spanish and promote the UnFranchise to that market,  like in a recent Hola! magazine. So we've got this promo coming up on Univision's website and possibly commercials to on the network while a Jennifer Lopez mini-series is running and she debuts her latest English album. And there's also a concert tour to go with it the same week and you know there will be tons of interviews on top of that. But....how am I the typical non-Spanish speaking distributor gonna capitalize on this opportunity and campaign?

Yeah, I know, soon the portal will be translated with a click of a button but if my new customer assumes that whoever their contact is also speaks fluent Spanish for customer service that's gonna be an issue. Our new in-house customer service is supposedly heavy on the Asian accent and that's not good for Latinos. I already have issues trying to communicate with my friend that does some cleaning for me, we end up playing Charades & using her kids as translators for details. I can understand some words but am just learning. My existing customers have already been complaining when they call the helpline for after-hour assistance. I'm sure MA will work it out and have more people to help with the new promotion by then, I just can't help but be concerned about it.

Well the article I read was mostly about the types of food products the Hispanic market is typically defined by and just looking at that I think we'll do well. We do need Transitions to come out with some ethnic entrées to appeal to the Latino people. I'd like to see more of them myself! The childhood obesity issues for Latinos is something that Jennifer Lopez is making donations to from her concert tickets so that should be a major consideration for MA to keep in mind & help provide solutions.

Dr. Shari did say that they're working on expanding the line and I hope its not just more spicy cuisine...wish some kind of enriched burrito or enchilada would materialize, I love those. BTW- I'll readily admit that the new Transitions Pizza is fantastic!! Kudos to Dr. Shari!! The Omega III enriched crust is just great. My girls love the do-it-yourself pizza creating. Its much like the popular Lunchables found in grocery stores...except its a way healthier version & doesn't need refrigeration!!
