My Ad on Craigslist for Makeup Artists
Here's my ad that I just posted in the Beauty Services on Craigslist for Long Island:
Title: Makeup Artist Question
Details:
"Do you lose money to dept. stores sales clerks?
Carry private label professional quality cosmetics for innovative opportunity for MUA's that want to sell collections to their clients. Don't send existing customers to the beauty counter, you can make the additional income with custom color palettes, custom blended foundation(--keep a client for life!), trend kits and even skincare products. Cruelty free and responsibly manufactured. Add to your services with a total beauty system that can earn residual(retirement) income too. Call for a demo 516-935-0863."
Let's see how many MUA's I can spark an interest for Motives. It makes so much sense for makeup artists to carry a line within their profession that can earn more income with a top quality product line that they can customize to their client. Private labels aren't enough since its just a one time sale with no leverage from a sales organization of partners. Motives is a innovative way to get a customer for life with custom blended foundations and personalized color palettes that can be filled in empty palettes for them to buy directly from the professional that did the consultation. Not to mention the potential for customized skincare regimens or nutritional support for healthy skin!
I'd love to do a presentation for these overworked beauticians that have to let money slip thru their fingers as customers go to the department store to buy MAC or some other line that isn't going to be as good. I plan to do demos for the responders to the advertisement and if there are enough people (male or female) interested I'll just book them all into one event.
What sparked my newfound interest was a lecture that I went to a week ago. I met up with a couple there that I knew through friends, the wife is an esthetician and she caught up with an old co-worker that was there too, whom is "still only 20 hours away from her license". I instantly thought "Motives!", but held off on any prospecting until another time. It got me thinking about how cosmetologists--which I almost pursued myself-- struggle to make a living. No pension plan in their industry, unless they work for a major company. Just one salon after another or freelancing to bring in extra income with their skills. The Motives opportunity would tie in with them so well and give the long term income they lack in the beauty industry.
One of my close friends is a Nail Technician that freelances. She has her upscale client base and provides personal service to them by driving to their homes and doing their nails.....with less toxic products as a special niche that she's discovered since she's asthmatic and very "Green" conscious. She has taken many financial classes to educate herself because she knows that her profession has its limits, which she enlightened me to. Someday she'll find her own opportunity to create the long term retirement income as she's more into real estate and investing. Her experience has taught her that its necessary for longevity and success in later years.
I think that I'll set a date now for a Motives Presentation to plug them into......and share it with our team too. Its the Law of Attraction being set into motion right??!!! Attention to my Intention is the key!

Hi,
I was introduced to ma through my husbands friend who was doing it for awhile. I was wondering how much it is for a makeup presentation and if you have any in fl, va, or ny Thanks Beth

Hi Beth,
Ask your hubby's friend for a consultant referral near you to take a look at Motives. MA has consultants nationwide for personal service with the custom blend foundations (and new custom minerals) and can showcase the products with skincare clinics & demos. MA also has a Motives catalog available too with great images of the collection.
You already know makeup is something you best seen up close and sampled....that's exactly why I chose to get involved in this product line. If he cannot lead you to someone for that then I'd gladly assist you here in NY. I'm on Long Island and would certainly get together with you in the Metro area, I also frequent the Hudson/Catskill area and Poconos or CT too.
Just call in or email me your contact info & I'll make sure we take care of your request. -Lisa

Oh, by the way I forgot to mention that a Motives Presentation is entirely complimentary, a group clinic or private consultation or even an evaluation of the products for business are all complimentary.
We do not charge for that as we are looking at potential sales--so I don't say "free" and possibly partering with new people.
My only request is that someone not be a "tire-kicker" who wastes our time or product from demos without even a referral. There's nothing more disappointing than being stood up or avoided, if its not for you just politely say so, I'm a big girl and can handle it, really. Good luck Beth,
*Lisa*
