Our Memorial Day Pocono Getaway Was So Enjoyable!
Its always the "Escape from NY" that's trouble while leaving the NY metro area. This time we left after the daytime rush and didn't have much traffic at all. Sometimes its an hour or more just to get thru the north part of the city where the Throgs Neck to the George Washington Bridges stretch is. Its not fun and is always a challenge to find the least backed up route, of which there are several that we've discovered over the years.
The weather in the Poconos was hot during the day in the 80's and at night near the 50-60's range. We did the big ol' BBQ thing on the lake, a few firepit gatherings, a short trip to a local zoo and only one night of showers happened after we had closed up for the night.
We went to our dear friend's trailer community park, Eagle Lake. Whatta nice place, really. We had camped and did the Pop-Up thing in several trailer parks in upstate NY and NJ but this "community" is the best we've seen. Very kid friendly too. Its prices went up this year significantly and we'd love to buy something there but our timing is off. Gotta sell the house and get settled before we invest in a recreational property. Although we can plan for it. Its always fun shopping and as long as we can rent a trailer then there's no rush.
I met a few of their friends that I've been hearing about but ya know, I didn't bring up any Market America business to them. No one was asking what anyone did for a living and I didn't feel like being the one to interview people in a vacation situation. I just made friends and hung out, as I'm more of a people watcher than a social butterfly.
One lady complained of her young adult son having stretch marks from losing alot of weight from dropping wrestling at school and I told her to check out "bio-peptides" and did mention Pentaxyl but I didn't press for a sale. I just wanted her to look into it if she really wanted to help him with the marks. The last thing I want is to be a nag or come across as one of those MLM'ers....but then I don't push to make people check MA out anyhow. Maybe I'll give her a sample in a tester container so they can try it on the boy's marks.
This is going to be a busy month ahead of me. So many plans for June but now other unexpected events are showing up in the mail or being discussed in conversations. Our youngest daughter is turning 5 and there are a lot of graduations happening when I wanted to have her party.......don't know if we can pull off a decent get-together. Maybe if I send invites and see what happens first, then I can cancel or just make it another time. She won't mind it being in July, we'll just do a double with my birthday and hers together. We haven't had a party in a while and I can get more work done here before then. Hmmm, sounds good. We'll see.

Update: We had the party, had a pony come for an hour and had a small gathering with a few friends and classmates from preschool. At least we got it done and had leftovers for a week. lol
