So How Do I Get Paid For Shopping Online?

Let's uncover how my company pays us for shopping. First, there are a few misconceptions about Market America's UnFranchise and I want to do what I can here on the blog to clarify what its really about. Then we'll get into the details.

You see, one of my business partners just had a conversation with someone that mistook our business model for an affiliate marketing site, which is when the site owner would get paid for just "clicks" at their URL to the services and brand names shown with links, banners or as a directory, but that's NOT how we make an income from shopping, online or otherwise. That's kind of how Google's AdSense works. We have a "people factor" that the prospect didn't understand or even want!

The other myth is that we are an MLM, "multi-level marketing". That concept has antiquated pay plans and high sales or recruiting quotas for measly monthly checks, most of which must be shared. Market America is a hybrid of network marketing, direct sales, franchising and internet marketing. Confused yet?? I was too at first when I started with my husband in 1998 long before MA's web presence, so was the company as it evolved. MA has actually led the industry of "One-to-One Marketing" which Fortune 500 companies were just conceptualizing back then but not implementing yet and Time Magazine was projecting for business by 2010.

MA was originally born out of the frustration of our founder's vision to give entrepreneurs a real opportunity to work from home, part-time with leverage, and as a point of contact for building relationships with customers while having the potential for increasing long term income by networking with 2 partners for expansion. Unlike MLM  with 5 or 6 or 8 recruits, who "get" another 5, 6 or 8 and so on, earn tiny percentages and juggle way too much for the average human being to endure!

Not too long ago, people would try to build their UnFranchise like that and many ended up failing miserably. I feel bad for those that tried MA  back then, it was so much more paperwork and had costly management tools that have all been streamlined and minimized but even still today many of those past UnFranchise owners still hold great value to our products and continue to use them.

The result is an innovative business with a personal touch that utilizes technology and high demand markets, providing value to the consumer with strict product quality codes, giving us the opportunity to create income from commissions on product and service volume. Not for signing up massive numbers of people like some MLM's that pay out bonuses for such desperate recruiting tactics.

Okay now, I really do get paid for online shopping by getting a percentage of the total sale from a click via my link towards my secondary commissions. Yes, secondary, the main income from an UnFranchise occurs by direct and internet sales of Market America products and has its own binary commission structure, immediate retail profit and even a bonus for management of your team making money too. We get paid to help other team mates make their own commissions--which could be more than their senior partners! And as far as I know, MA is the only company to earn from eBay bids. They wanted us to shut down the auction we had, America's Auctions, and worked out a deal for finding customers instead. Nice eh?

I heard at the Leadership Convention in Miami that the Robb Report is writing up our company for a Springtime article, so keep an eye out for that.....I'm sure to announce it here when that happens. Soon a Text Marketing service will be live and the new VOIP partnership was announced for the Voitel Communications that's forthcoming with Cellular service too from a major brand like Cingular or Verizon, I forgot who's onboard first.

If you think that this is information overload, don't feel bad. Market America is like a diamond being cut with new facets being added as time goes on, creating more brilliance while adding more worth. I predict that in the very near future that the UnFranchise will be reserved for select business partners, much like a McDonald's franchise where you must prove that you are worthy of the opportunity--only without the costly fees and high overhead. Partners must also be willing to run it with a code of ethics and team building that is not found anywhere in corporate America today. For now, anyone can apply.

What will it take to get there and be recognized as a Fortune 500 company? I don't know, but MA is making strides & there may be more "growing pains" ahead for MA, but being in the right place at the right time will come & surely be worth the wait for me, my team and any new partners that I choose to take on.

Afterthought 3/29: I think this may be too much info for some people, while others will still conclude that MA is an MLM due to the sponsoring and commission structure, and if so, then you could just say that this is the best one out there because we got it right and are always improving the system as times change.

In the end, getting people paid for living a less stessful, healthier, more purposeful and happier lifestyle is an awesome business no matter what you want to call it.
