I Think Going For Motives Trainer Is Official
I haven't written down my latest activities because it takes some time to jot down what I want to review here and there hasn't been much quiet time to do that. Our family has kept me busy with school stuff for the kids and other busy-ness here at home. For instance, we started cleaning out the storage unit loaded with my mother-in-law's stuff to make room for our stuff so we can get the house fixed up. Even my tasks for MA have been picking up too and I just had a whole day in Queens yesterday with a Motives training.
Actually, I sat up at the front of the room with Tina Chan, the latest Motives Trainer of the Year, and she announced to the entire class that she's mentoring me to be a Trainer too before she sells her home & leaves for California. You could say that its official now and I have a lot of work ahead of me.
I had the opportunity to sit in our Motives branded chair facing everyone as she taught a Day 1 Color Certification for about 25 distributors, she had originally planned for 12. She had me state my reasons for being involved with the Motives division and share my hubby's experience with the Timeless Rx After Sun Repair (see the entry about Ron's Bluefish Trip Sunburn) and do a few simple tasks while assisting students throughout the day.
It was kinda strange being upfront, I typically hide in the back of every event where I can make an exit unnoticed. Sometimes my shyness makes me just want to avoid eye contact altogether with people, for no apparent reason, but this time I enjoyed being looked upon as someone willing to be a leader and knowledgeable. There were several women from the NY theater industry there and a makeup artist or two by trade with more experience than me but i wasn't intimidated. I know our stuff and have almost 9 yrs with MA so that helps. Someone even recognized my name, after he asked for my business card, from our eGroup...like I was well-known or something. I have to say that felt nice. LOL
And yes, I said "he", there are always a few guys in every class for Motives Custom Cosmetics that I've ever attended...and they must apply makeup to themselves and other students just like the ladies. They have fun and realize the money that can be made by learning about our beautifying products. I admire them for having the courage and sense of adventure to be students. In the end, they can learn how to sell the cosmetics and skincare while being able to determine who would make potential new business partners for this specialty.
Now I MUST make appointments for consultations and clinics. She thinks I can do the Challenge too by July! This is truly the time to stop procrastinating and just do it!! I have to know how to do it anyhow if I plan on teaching it!! So much to do....at least the warmer weather is here which will give everyone reason to get a fresh look and be more social.
About two weeks ago we had a Verizon promo at our auto shop I posted a flyer with tear-offs for consults and all of my catalogs were picked up rather quickly...but so far no one has ordered or inquired. I also gifted a basket of items for a local pre-school fundraiser. The organizer is a friend and told me to print up flyers that she will put in all of the kids backpacks. I want to do a consult for her too so she knows what Motives is when she's asked. It always comes down to me picking up the phone and asking for the appointment.
BTW: Those new Motives catalogs will be available next week, according to Tina. My recent order was canceled and now I know why...the new ones will have both cosmetics AND skincare......which we've all been asking for and I can't wait to see those!!
