Another One Lost to Heart Health
Its been a traumatic crazy busy start to the week with the loss of my best friend's brother. While we escaped for a great family weekend upstate to the mountains, a couple, that are our best friends, had a major tragedy. They unexpectedly lost a close family member to heart disease. My friend's brother had survived a brain aneurysm about ten years ago and has been seeing doctors regularly ever since but they didn't catch the damage that he had in his heart, resulting in the heart attack. OR....he was in denial and not doing anything about it.
Its so sad, the guy has a wife and two middle school aged kids. He was able to recover well enough over the years after three brain surgeries to walk, drive and eventually work a little part-time for the town job he already had. Not sure what he did exactly there or even if it was officially work. I keep telling my friend that the day he died, Saturday, was the hardest part, they were there at the hospital for him for the whole ordeal and now this is the closure process. They're strong enough to handle it and are doing much better than when I first saw them late Sunday night as we arrived home from our road trip and did a stop-over, especially the wife.
So please excuse me for the next few days as I assist my friends. I will call the people I need to speak with today before this afternoon's wake to square away some requests, but updates and mailings will be on hold until later in the week. I don't even know if I'll be at this weekend's team meeting, if I can be sure that I'm into it I'll go. One of the ladies needs her Custom Blend done too, so I really must make it there.
